  • This route is from Santiago to the coastal towns of Finisterre (or “Fisterra”) & Muxía in the region of Galicia. Map & route info on GRONZE.COM
  • Distances: Santiago to Finisterre = 54 miles; Santiago to Muxía = 50 miles; Finisterre to Muxía = about 18 miles.
  • Finisterre translates as “The End of the Earth,” which references the ancients who thought the earth ended at the ocean. It’s both a busy tourist spot and a Camino destination.
  • Muxía is a quiet fishing village and a pilgrimage site. In September a “romeria” (short distance pilgrimage) takes place by the water’s edge at the Santuario da Virxe da Barca where ex-votos are left.
  • You can receive a certificate for walking to Finisterre (a Finisterrana) & to Muxía (a Muxiana).
